Local Walks and Cycle Routes

Updated: Jan 25

Located on the edge of the North Yorkshire National Park and close to the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Crayke Cottages is perfectly positioned for keen walkers, ramblers, hikers, and cyclists.

The large National Park offers an abundance of walking options, from long hikes with panoramic views of the moor or coast, to shorter strolls through ancient woodland or along babbling streams and rivers.

The North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales also a fantastic location for cycling, with miles of country roads, bridleways, forest tracks and disused railway lines for all abilities.

The National Park's website www.northyorkmoors.org.uk offers a comprehensive guide to all routes.

Locally to us, you can stroll out of the cottages and straight into the countryside where you will find so many hidden gems and beautiful rolling countryside. Crayke is a historical village with plenty to explore so you won't even need to step foot in a car to enjoy nature and the beauty of the local area.
